Vijay fans painted Madurai red on Sunday as the audio of the Ilaya Thalapathi’s forthcoming film Velayudham was launched in a grand manner at the temple town. On the occasion, cows, iron boxes and sewing machines were distributed to the beneficiaries.

The audio CD was formally released by two fans- a male fan from Thanjavur and a female fan from Madurai. Says Vijay, 'Action plays a prominent part in such scripts. Velayudham has a few pulsating stunt sequences and I enjoyed doing a fight on a train. It was choreographed by Hollywood stunt man Tomdelmar. It was shot using state-of-the-art technology'.

Heaping laurels on Vijay Antony, Vijay says, ‘Vijay Antony has already given me beautiful songs in Vettaikaran. He has repeated the magic in Velayudham’.

The movie, directed by Jayam Raja, stars Genelia D’ Souza, Hanshika Motwani and Santhanam in lead roles. Produced by Aascar Ravichandran on a lavish budget, it is expected to hit the screens soon.

 Ajith starrer Mankatha is finally confirmed for release on 31 August. Sun Pictures will be releasing it in association with Radhika Sarathkumar’s Raadan Pictures across Tamilnadu this Wednesday.

Sources say the initial ticket bookings have been phenomenal. Long queues of Ajith fans thronged the cinema halls. Mankatha is Ajith's 50th film. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, it has music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Venkat Prabhu said, 'it is a boyish film and all has come good. Ajith plays a role with negative shades. Other actors, including Arjun, Trisha, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai, Premgi Amaran and Vaibhav, have given their best.’

Meanwhile, the fans associations of the actor have planned mega celebrations across the State on 31 August to welcome Mankatha. ‘Since it is the 50th film of our Thala, it is nothing short of a Deepavli for us,’ Attagasam Murugan, a die-hard fan of Ajith at Ambattur, says.

At a time when a lot of expectations are surrounding Vettai, director Lingusamy's forthcoming film starring Arya and Madhavan in lead roles, here we present the story of the movie.

Madhavan plays a cop, whose name is Thirumurthy, while Arya is his younger brother. A carefree Arya later takes action avatar, as circumstances force him to do so.

Sameera Reddy plays Madhavan's wife and Amala Paul as her sister. Arya falls in love with Amala at the very first sight and their romance scenes will be the highlight of the movie, add sources.

Sept 2, 2011: If it was Superstar Rajinikanth’s Enthiran last year, it is Thala Ajith’s 50th film Mankatha to take a bumper opening in the box-office this year. 'The movie has broken all opening records of 2011 so far, trade sources say.

The movie, directed by Venkat Prabhu, hit the screens on Wednesday. It
opened in a big way and box office collections were stupendous.
The movie has won positibve reviews and Ajith fans are doubly happy.

The joyous fans also thanked Venkat Prabhu for making a film that showcassed Ajith as charming and daring.

Sept 2, 2011: Yuvanshankar Raja, son of  maestro Ilayaraja, tied the knot with
Shilpa at place Tirupati temple on 1st, Sep, 2011.  The marriage ceremony was on the holy Tirumala hills was attended by members from both the families.

'The wedding took place at exactly 10.20 am and it was performed by Hindu tradition. Music maestro Ilayaraja was very happy to see his younger son in the attire of a bridegroom.

Shilpa is an graduate from University of Adelaide, Australia. Yuvan and Shilpa are in love with each other for sometime now and their wedding took place with the blessings of elders in both the families.

Close family members like Karthikraja, Bhavatharini, Venkat Prabhu and Premgi Amaran were present at the wedding, along with elders like Ilayaraja and Gangai Amaran.

The others who were there at the wedding included director Vishnuvardhan and his wife Anu, producer Sathyajyothi Thyagarajan, designer Vasugi Baskar, actors Vaibhav, Aravind, Parthi Baskar, Mirchi Shiva, Subbu and others.
