Disk Usage Utility
Classify and Manage Files by Category
SUMMARY: DiskSorter groups files into categories, allowing you to see how much room is used by audio files, images, or executables and scripts
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DiskSorter freeware is a disk usage / file classification utility for Windows. After selecting a drive or directory, the application performs a scan and displays the number and sizes of files in categories such as "Development Files", "Music and Audio Files", and "Programs, Extensions, and Script Files". You can further delve into these categories; for example, the "Images, Pictures, and Graphics Files" category can be subdivided into PNG and ICO images. Plus, the software also shows files categorized by relative size.
While the reviewed version is freeware, pro and ultimate versions (for a fee) support features such as file categorization by access time, creation time, extension, modification time, and user name. Reports can be exported in CSV, HTML, and text formats. Command line support allows the software to be run from the prompt or at specified times during the day or week, generating periodic reports. The software notifies you when trying to access these or other features that require a fee
